22. + 23. + 24., August 2012, 19:00 – 23:00 h

Treffpunkt:
Maison de France, Kurfürstendamm 211, 10719 Berlin

For many Berlin residents, City West has remained in the shade for the last 20 years – even though the district around the Bahnhof Zoo has a glorious dance past to look back on. In 1926, Josephine Baker had her first German appearance on the Ku’damm, and in 1989 the very first Love Parade took place there. X-Choreografen investigates the myths of a long forgotten neighborhood now trying to redefine itself. In 15 performances, 17 up-and-coming choreographers who all work in Berlin (though few were born here) take a special look at the unknown empty spaces between construction booms and wrecking balls. The tension between in- teriors and exteriors, between the present, future and past makes the old West Berlin a perfect field for experiments and projections.
