TANZNACHT BERLIN 2012 is an event by the Tanzfabrik Berlin (www.tanzfabrik-berlin.de) in close collaboration with the different partners of the Uferstudios: ada Studio & Bühne für zeitgenössischen Tanz (www.ada-studio.de), Inter-University Center for Dance Berlin (www.hzt-berlin.de), Tanzbüro Berlin (www.tanzraumberlin.de) and Uferstudios GmbH (www.uferstudios.com).

Each institution contributes its part to this year’s festival edition: The format 6 times 10 was developed in conjunction with the ada Studio, the students of the Inter-University Center for Dance Berlin show Metabolic Metropolis, the Tanzbüro Berlin brings the festival’s themes and contents to a broader public with mapping dance berlin and the Uferstudios GmbH supports the event with space, technical equipment and its entire team. The collaborative work together on TANZNACHT BERLIN 2012 was united towards one shared goal, to support and to make contemporary dance in Berlin visible.

In 2012, the TANZNACHT BERLIN 2012 is cooperating with TANZ IM AUGUST for the first time. Both festivals will be presenting the site-specific project X-Choreografen from 22-24 August; 17 choreographers will explore Berlin’s western district around the Kurfürstendamm. Grind, a solo by Jefta van Dinther, Minna Tiikkainen and David Kiers, will be shown at the Podewil on 24 and 25 August; it’s a sensory overload in which dance has an exciting liaison with light and sound. On 25 August, Andreas Müller and Bo Wiget, known as Beide Messies, will perform in the shuttle-bus that will bring the audience from the Uferstudios to the Podewil where both festivals will celebrate. DJs will guarantee a party – hopefully on a hot summer night!
