Radio-Choreography: Episode 1. Comings and Goings

Netta Weiser | A Public Listening Event - in co-operation with ITI
Saturday 24.7. 16:45, Studio 6 / Headphone station in the courtyard / Live on Reboot.fm

Duration: approx. 1 hour

Radio-Choreography is a radiophonic archive of dance practices created by female choreographers during times of migration and border crossing.

Through a practice of live broadcasting, we transmit a multiplicity of times and places into the here and now of the radio. It is an intimate but untouchable dance, reaching deep inside from way out there. We meet through the fractures of radio. A transnational and cross-generational sisterhood is fueled by a desire to connect. We move on air, amplify nomadic narratives, inhabit new spaces for dance and render genealogies based on practices of listening.

Radio-Choreography includes a series of four episodes broadcasted live from dance archives and libraries in Berlin, Cologne, Tel Aviv and Vienna.

The first episode, «Comings and Goings» focuses on dance works related to the city of Berlin, including sounds from Beirut, voices from Athens and documents from the German Dance Archives Cologne. To kick off the series, reboot.fm will broadcast the live show from the Media Library for Dance and Theatre at the International Theatre Institute (ITI).

Stay tuned.
